Should AP Exams be Required?
Part of the "No Child Left Behind" act is to increase the number of students taking the National AP Exams – not just taking an "AP" Course for a transcript notation.
http://www.ed.gov/policy/elsec/leg/esea02/pg14.htmlIn some of the recent discussions on the AP Calculus electronic discussion group, the topic of requiring exams was addressed. The AP/IB Boosters founders agree with most AP teachers that the exams are key components of the AP learning experience. The AP exams in May give students valuable practice at a college final. They also give teachers valuable feedback. Please tell us what you think. We love guest authors.
