AP/IB Credit in Washington Colleges: Seattle University, University of Washington, Washington State University, Western Washington University
AP and IB credit is awarded to students in thousands of colleges and universities throughout the country. This includes many Washington colleges. Please see the applicable link for each college. The links are provided for additional detailed information, as well as our source for the information in this newsletter.
Seattle University
Advanced Placement (AP) Credit is awarded to students who earn required scores based on College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB) tests. The maximum number of AP credits granted is 45. You must have official examination scores sent to the Registrar's Office. Refer to the Advanced Placement Scoring Reference Table for course equivalency listings and the minimum required scores. Only courses that may affect your fall schedule are listed.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Credit: Seattle University recognizes courses completed through the IB program, and in some cases coursework and examinations will be considered equivalent to university-level work. This allows credit to be granted toward your Seattle University degree. If you have completed courses in an IB program, refer to the International Baccalaureate Scoring Reference Table to determine what credit might be granted for these classes.

University of Washington
The UW encourages and applauds students who have chosen International Baccalaureate (IB) courses as part of their high school curriculum. These courses, as well as honors courses, are challenging and demanding, and we believe they provide excellent preparation for University study.

High School Robotics Competition Recap
On Saturday, the finals of the high school Northwest Regional robotics competition were held at the University of Washington. This is the 12th year of this competition. The team from Florida had the robot to beat. These were not small robots. These were rugged autonomous and remotely controlled robots, like you may have seen on the show "Battle Bots." They have a base of approximately 3 feet by 3 feet. In the final match, one of the robots flipped another one over (much to the delight of the crowd). The championships will be held April 10-12 in Houston Texas. Dean Kamen founded this competition. You may have heard of him. Dean is the inventor of the Segway. It was a great event. Perhaps an Everett School District high school can participate next year.
